My work consists of a number of scarves made from hand-printed silk. The method that I use for printing is a Japanese stencil printing technique, known as Katazome.
The stencils that I use for printing are all cut by hand in simple patterns. By combining a variety of stencils in different ways, I create new patterns every time I print.

The true colours will only show after printing, fixating and rinsing the fabric. A process that will easily take some days! Read more about the process of Katazome printing over here (link).
Because I enjoy playing around rather than examining all the colour recipes in advance, exciting results arise every time I create a new Katazome fabric.
